Maggie Bell has been working with silks for a number of years
after taking a NASA mapping class that used silk painting to illustrate landforms. In this Saturday workshop students can produce up to three scarves. Among processes used are, Shibori—the art of tying, folding and pleating, and a handpainted technique using a batik-like process with a resist. The dye is non-toxic, hand-washable and heat-set.
